INFORMATION FOR SCHOOLS AND FAMILIES ATTENDING THE COME AND PLAY WITH THE HALLÉ CONCERTS – SUMMER 2017 FROM
After the recent tragic events at Manchester Arena, the team at The Bridgewater Hall is aware of the heightened level of threat against venues across the country. The Venue is in regular communication with police and relevant authorities and is continually reviewing its security and safety procedures.
Additional attention is being paid to the piazza outside the front entrance to the venue, and this will be particularly the case for the Come and Play performances, with additional security staff being in attendance. Where appropriate, bag searches will be in place, so schools are requested to minimise the size and number of bags students and supervising staff bring with them. All school staff and adult chaperones arriving with a school group must be identifiable and wear an ID (name badge or lanyard).
Parents and family members attending as audience or collecting tickets must enter through the Box Office doors situated at the side of the building where random bag searches will be carried out. Audience members will not be allowed to enter through the main foyer doors. For security reasons, at the end of the concert parents are requested to leave the building and its environment promptly, and not to wait and see their children.
Please note that the Venue is regularly checked for unattended items both in public and non-public areas; patrons should avoid leaving personal items unattended.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of anyone associated with the Manchester Arena incident.
